In this episode, Dr. George James and Kristin Henning discuss:
Religion and Social Justice
Having a vision for your life
Countering the imposter syndrome
Treating kids like kidsKey Takeaways:
Religion and social justice can, and is supposed to, go hand in hand in creating a fairer and better future for our society.
If you’re young, you don't have to have your whole life figured out. Don’t pressure yourself, you’ll get there!
It might take a bit of time and mind setting in order to truly feel like you deserve to be in the space that you’re in. Many people feel like you too, showing them that they belong starts with recognizing that you too do belong.
We should be treating kids like they’re kids no matter the demographic they belong to. That should be common sense. When kids make a mistake we must discipline them and guide them to the right way, not put them in prison. "You stay the course and the money will follow. Do what your passion is, follow your calling and the Lord will make a way for the rest of it.." — Kristin Henning Connect with Kristin Henning: Twitter: https://twitter.com/profkrishenning Website: https://www.law.georgetown.edu/faculty/kristin-nicole-henning/ Books: https://www.amazon.com/Kristin-Henning/e/B093HM8QSQ%3Fref=dbs_a_mng_rwt_scns_share Connect with Dr. George James: Website: https://georgetalks.com/georgetalks/ | https://theleapcast.com Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/georgetalks/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/DrGeorgeJamesJr/ LEAPCast Community: https://www.facebook.com/groups/333209771885091 Twitter: https://twitter.com/georgetalks YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/user/GeorgeTalksLLC/videos LinkedIn: http://linkedin.com/in/GeorgeTalks Audio production by Turnkey Podcast Productions.
